Our family!

We are so grateful! As a family, we opened East Memphis Athletic Club in 2018. Since then we have been blessed with a staff and fitness community that supports each other and have been honored to be part of the vibrant East Memphis Community.   We are also in the process of expanding our award winning programs and services to the Poplar & Johnson Road area in Germantown with an expected opening date in early 2024.  

 

Josh - Owner & Personal Trainer

As an owner, I am proud of our EMAC team! We are 100% dedicated to our community and being the best coaches for each member. My mission is to ensure every member feels valued and excited about their workouts.

I'm constantly looking to enhance my clients' workouts by having them set clear goals, monitoring their progress, and empowering them to achieve their fitness goals by designing workouts that meet their needs and abilities. I am passionate about Olympic Lifting and devoted to the science and the execution of the sport and am always looking to build my knowledge and skills to supplement my BS in Exercise Science, my ISSA Personal Training Certification, and my Olympic Lifting, USAW Certification.

I was born in Rochester, NY but now call Memphis my home. During my high school and collegiate years, I played football and wrestled. One of my high school highlights was playing in the state championship football game in the Meadowlands ...  and winning!  Running out of the locker room and across the NFL logos in the end zone was amazing!

Natalie - Owner

Brian and I met in my Body Pump class. When we got married we mapped out our bucketlist, and at the top of the list, was owning a gym. When the opportunity arose for us to take over this club in East Memphis, we jumped at it!  And with our son's Josh's help, we did it!

My background is in psychology, special education, and school leadership. My favorite quote, "A good teacher is like a candle, it consumes itself to light the way for others."

Growing up, I danced competitively and played a number of sports. My body image has always been an issue. I have gone through fluctuations, gaining and losing weight many times. Owning our gym has given me the opportunity to share with our community my focus on building healthy habits and maintaining mindful eating. I am a certified Wellness Coach, and I love to work with others to get them excited about plannng their meals and finding the workout they love.

 

Brian - Owner

Being an owner of EMAC has been an incredibly satisfying time for me.  Being able to work with our East Memphis Community and see how folks can literally change their life is absolutely amazing.  

I graduated from Cornell Univerity with a BS in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and then went on to earn a business degree from Northwestern University. In the past, I have worked for several companies as a COO and CTO.  

At EMAC, I love to focus on encouraging members to believe in themselves and show them how exercise can be fun. I also have a BLAST with coaching! I love to coach Spinning, Body Pump, and Bungee classes. In addition to Coaching,  I'm our CFO and resident handyman! 😉

    I specialize in strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, and deep-core training. In the military, I trained soldiers in physical training, conducted Army Combat Fitness Tests, and administered remedial physical training for struggling soldiers. This experience made me celebrate seeing others move outside their comfort zone and crush their goals. 

    I enjoy working with members who have big fitness goals. Together, we will break your goal(s) into clear targets and cross the finish line together; small steps lead to BIG wins.

I became a Certified Personal Trainer because the gym brings me fun and nostalgic memories of my days as an athlete in high school.

Working with clients who want a challenge and are ready to push past the limits they set for themselves is always a reason to celebrate. Registered Dietian

Emily is our on-site registered and licensed dietitian (RDN) with clinical practice experience in a number of venues. She is a Memphis native and loves the East Memphis Community.  She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and completed her Dietetic Internship at Mississippi State University. She also has her Master’s degree in Health Promotion and Wellness through Mississippi State University. She believes balance is essential in every aspect of life, especially when it comes to nutrition.  

Emily is available to help you with any aspect of your nutrition!
